Previously we had ground up tennis shoes and the rubber always separated from the sand, eventually causing the bottom layers of sand to pack down like hard concrete that slid when horses turned quickly on it. The TruTex Fibers combined beautifully with the sand and adds an incredible amount of cushion and stability for our Dressage Horses!
