What Are TruTex Footing Additives?

TruTex additives are engineered blends of performance-grade textile fibers and flakes that mix with sand to transform the way your arena rides.
When added to the right sand, these materials help create a surface that’s safer, more consistent, and easier to maintain—giving horses what they need to move freely and riders more time doing what they love.

What geotextile footing additives are NOT:

A replacement for proper base construction

Who Might NOT Benefit from a fiber Additive?

Footing Additives are not a one-size-fits-all solution.

If your arena lacks a proper base

Fibers can’t fix an unstable foundation​.

If your sand is not suitable

It won’t perform well as an arena footing. A sand amendment or replacement may be needed before or alongside an additive for best results.

If you need a "dust-free" footing, without watering

A specialty water-replacement treatment or a wax/polymer-coated surface is required.

If you’re unwilling to maintain your footing

Additives require proper watering and dragging to function properly​.

Known for its versatility, Element blends effortlessly with a wide range of sands, offering improved moisture retention that reduces the need for frequent watering and dragging. This low-maintenance solution provides a balanced surface ideal for various training needs, enhancing your arena without the need for a full overhaul.

TRUTEX Element requires and retains moisture for longer periods than sand alone, making it perfect for keeping your arena dust-free and easier to maintain.

The recommended amount of moisture for Element is 8-12%. It is compatible with using Magnesium Chloride as a watering replacement in an indoor arena, provided the application is sufficient.

A compatible groomer is essential to getting the most out of your footing. The right tool will be capable of loosening and mixing the footing materials as well as smoothing and re-compressing the surface.
