Eventing is as much about teamwork as it is about competition. The USEA Event Horse Futurity was created to spotlight U.S.-bred event horses, their owners, and the riders who bring them along.

This year, Greer Kelly’s horse Perry will be guided through the program by rider and trainer Cindy Anderson-Blank, with TRUTEX proudly sponsoring their journey.

What is the Event Horse Futurity?

The Futurity blends training, education, and fan engagement into a unique competition format. Riders and owners document their horse’s progress through vlogs, showcasing training milestones, preparation, and results in USEA Young Event Horse qualifiers. Horses earn recognition not only from judges but also through a fan vote, giving breeders and owners greater visibility.

At its core, the Futurity is designed to build momentum for American-bred event horses, helping them gain recognition, attract supporters, and strengthen the pipeline for U.S. riders.

Meet Perry

Registered as “TGS Alls Well Mister Perry”, Perry is a five-year-old Irish Draught Sport Horse bred by Ann Shira O’Donnell of Top Gun Stables in Texas. His dam, Windfield All Sunshine, is by the influential Irish Draught sire Bridon Belfrey, while his sire, Rather Well, competed at the Advanced level with Karl Slezak for Team Canada.

Perry already has an impressive record: he won multiple Future Event Horse qualifiers as a youngster, was Reserve Champion as a yearling, went on to become the Two-Year-Old FEH Champion, and later captured the Bred to Event Classic Four-Year-Old Championship in Maryland. Most recently, he and Cindy claimed the Part-Bred Irish Draught Division at the Upperville Colt & Horse Show.

But what makes Perry stand out isn’t just his record. He’s known around the barn for his big personality: a love of snacks, a lime-green jolly ball, and a goofy streak that’s earned him the nickname “Perry the Platypus.” “He’s very silly in the barn,” Greer shared, “but all business when it’s time to work.”

Cindy Anderson-Blank: Rider & Trainer

Cindy has been riding Perry full-time since March 2025, and she describes him as “a worker” with both sensitivity and scope. “He’s very easy to get along with—90% of the time he’s low drama,” she explained. “But he’s got plenty of engine. He’s not a kick-along horse; he’s studious and really shows up every day ready to work.”

Her own journey in eventing is a testament to persistence. Cindy grew up on a cattle ranch in rural Oregon, where she rode western and competed in junior rodeo before discovering eventing. With no local opportunities, she would drive over three hours across the mountains to take lessons.

“When I was 16, old enough to drive, I could finally get myself over the mountain to a trainer,” she recalled. “It was three and a half hours one way, but I was determined.”

From there, she became a working student for top professionals, including Jim Graham in Alabama and later Olympian Phyllis Dawson in Virginia, where she spent a decade producing hundreds of horses and honing her craft. In 2021, Cindy launched her own business, Monarch Eventing, which has now grown into a training and competition program with nearly 30 horses on the property.

“My career has always been about correct training and producing competitive horses,” Cindy said. “The Futurity is special because it shines a light on U.S.-bred horses and the breeders behind them. That’s huge for our sport.”

Greer Kelly & 3 Diamonds Farm: An Owner's Vision

Behind every great horse-and-rider partnership is an owner who believes in them. For Perry, that’s owner Greer Kelly of 3 Diamonds Farm. Perry spent over a year in the program of upper-level eventers Daniel and Kaitlin Clasing, who started him before Greer took the reins. Since then, she has championed his growth and ensured he’s had the right opportunities to showcase his talent.

“Perry has always shown promise as a sport horse,” Greer shared. “He has a big, powerful jump and a very nice gallop. He’s fancy on the flat for such a big horse, and Cindy is bringing out the best in him.”

Her decision to enter Perry in the Futurity was both personal and purposeful. “I wanted Perry to have the opportunity to showcase himself as a sport horse and to give Cindy another exciting partner,” she explained. “It’s also about celebrating U.S. breeders who are producing horses with the talent and temperament to succeed.”

Through 3 Diamonds Farm, Greer has established herself as a strong advocate for thoughtful horsemanship, quality breeding, and rider support. These values align seamlessly with TRUTEX’s own commitment to building the sport from the ground up.

TRUTEX: Supporting the Whole Team

TRUTEX’s sponsorship reflects a commitment that extends beyond arena footing and construction.

“From the ground up” is more than a tagline for TRUTEX; it’s a philosophy that values every piece of the sport: the horses, the people who produce them, and the community that cheers them on.

Looking Ahead

As Cindy and Perry prepare for upcoming qualifiers, the focus is on steady progress and shared goals. With Cindy’s expertise, Greer’s vision, and TRUTEX’s support, this partnership represents exactly what the Futurity is designed to celebrate: collaboration, horsemanship, and the future of U.S. eventing.

Stay tuned as we follow their journey toward the USEA Young Event Horse Championships at the Maryland 5 Star.
